Week 6 Devlog
I completed the concept art for the plants and their wilted forms. I decided that there would be 3 colour variants for the "foreground", "midground" and "background" of the foliage for the trees and shrubbery to mimic the exaggerated depth of shadow in the tapestries. Although I'm fairly certain that there's not much that can be done about the way light and shadows fall on the leaves to make it look like the tapestries, I can paint in a bit of shadow on the models' textures and use the dam standard and claypolish in the high poly models to make sharp edged curves along the veins to encourage ho the shadows fall along the leaves. I'll mess around with lighting in the unreal blockout to see how close I can get to my preferred light and shadow colours.
